There's a great Beatles song that goes "Don't let me down." A simple enough statement, but hard to do in practice. Sometimes expectations are hard to manage. For example, you can have a reservation at a restaurant all week that you're so excited about. You've heard things, you've read reviews, you've been studying the menu. But when you get there, the service is a little off, they're out of the thing you were excited to try, and the bread comes cold. This kind of thing might not be a major disappointment, but it certainly is a letdown. But if you had stumbled into the restaurant randomly, you might only remember that really good cocktail and nice hand soap. Life is all about expectations.
